Where it all began
It was a beautiful Friday afternoon. The sun streamed through the windows and spilled across the keyboard. “Free Write Friday”—a time when my sixth-grade classmates and I could write whatever we wanted—was here again.
I sat down at the computer station closest to the windows and began to type. All around me, the sound of keys clattered.
Engrossed in the moment and basking in the warmth of the sun, my soul took flight as words spilled onto the screen.
My story with words
and the plot twist
While the practice of regularly writing has always been a source of strength and delight to me, but walking a path that included sharing my writing publicly was never originally part of “my plan”.
In time, though, I sensed a clear invitation to pay attention to the breadcrumb trail of my love of words.
I also came to recognize that God was gently initiating a shift in my calling, nudging me to harness the beauty and power of words to cultivate soul wellness and encourage fullness of life in his people.
This redirection took me out of the education arena and into the world of content writing, development, and strategy—and launching Honey Salted Words!
